About

IGTAP is a browser game that fuses two genres that rarely meet: speedrun platforming and idle/incremental progression. Every run you make earns resources — and the faster you run, the more you earn.

Between runs you visit the upgrade shop. Buy speed boosts, jump improvements, and other perks that let you shave fractions of a second off your next attempt. It becomes a satisfying loop: run → earn → upgrade → run again.

The demo features 5 handcrafted levels with checkpoint-based progression. No AI was used in development.

How to Play

  1. Start a run Open the game on itch.io and press the start key. Your character begins moving through the platformer level.
  2. Jump and navigate Use Arrow Keys or WASD to move. Near-perfect landings earn bonus resources.
  3. Finish fast The quicker you complete the level, the larger your resource payout. Even 0.5 seconds compounds over many runs.
  4. Buy upgrades Between runs, spend resources in the shop. Speed, jump height, and special abilities are all upgradeable.
  5. Repeat and scale Return to the same level and watch your improved character tear through it. Then tackle harder stages.

Tips & Tricks

Prioritize speed upgrades first. The resource multiplier from faster runs outpaces most other early upgrades.
Near-perfect jumps matter more than you think. Landing cleanly at platform edges awards accuracy bonuses that stack significantly over 20+ runs.
Don't skip early levels. Replaying level 1 with late-game upgrades often earns comparable resources per minute versus struggling through level 4.
Learn one section at a time. Use checkpoints to memorize tricky segments before attempting a clean full run.
Save/load requires Steam. The browser demo resets on tab close — plan your sessions accordingly.
